Alaska NRA YHEC State Championship - Jun 3-5, 2022

2022 Alaska NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC)
State Championship - June 3-5 (Fri-Sun)

akyhec logo miniFun, friendly, competitive and educational event related to Hunting! Eight challenge events including four shooting events (rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader and archery) and four hunter responsibility events (hunter responsibility exam, wildlife identification, orienteering and hunter safety trail). For youth (under 19 - or age 19 but still enrolled in high school during part of 2020 calendar year) who have completed Basic Hunter Education. Entry fee is $50.00 and includes participant certificate, ammunition as needed, loaner equipment if needed (make sure to indicate in registration and coordinate with event staff in advance of event for any loaner equipment), lunch on Saturday, and BBQ lunch on Sunday. Awards presented to event winners in a number of categories.

The Alaska Interior Marksmanship Committee (AIM-COMM) and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range (HEDR) in Fairbanks, Alaska, work cooperatively to conduct the Alaska NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) program for the community. AIM-COMM is the lead non-profit (IRS 501(c)(3)) organization for the event and started YHEC with the ADF&G HEDR in Alaska in 2004, with the first-ever Alaska YHEC event in 2005.

READ BEFORE REGISTERING:
  • This registration system is set up for individual registrations only so if you have a YHEC team (five team members and one non-competing coach) organized, each (competing) member must register and pay (individually).
  • A valid Hunter Education Certification number/card is required. (If the competitor only recently took the class and was issued a temporary certificate, write "TEMP" in the appropriate field.) You have the option of uploading a scan or photo of the Hunter Ed Card or certificate when registering.
  • Only use this online registration if you are ready and able to pay online (with a credit card or PayPal account funds). If you are not able to register/pay online and still wish to participate in this event, please email This email address is being protected from spambots.   • Manual registrations will only be accepted as an exception, for valid reasons, i.e., registrant does not have access to a computer, etc.
INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTERING ONLINE:
  • Carefully complete the below online registration form to register a youth competitor for this event. Some fields are required.
  • Use the youth competitor's information unless otherwise indicated.
  • You must enter a valid email address in order to receive the confirmation email that is generated when you register.
  • Once you are ready to check out and complete the online registration process you will be prompted to pay any registration fees. We enable a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with a Security Certificate (look for the https:// in the URL area instead of the typical http:// with no "s") to encrypt your registration information as it is passed to the payment processor. We do not collect your credit card information on this site.
  • We use PayPal for online registration payments. You do not need to establish a PayPal account to pay via this method; you will be directed to PayPal's website for payment processing but you can choose the option to just pay with a credit card without creating/using a PayPal account.
  • Fees are non refundable.
