DESCRIPTION: This class meets the requirements to obtain a State of Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit (ACHP). After successfully completing the class, the student will leave with the required paperwork (completed, and ready to deliver, with the addition of the separate fee required by the state), to obtain their Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit. All class materials are provided, including the use of firearms and ammunition to complete the live-fire qualification.
WHO MAY ATTEND: U.S. adult citizens, or legal non-U.S. citizens who are lawful permanent residents (e.g., green card holders), 21 years of age or older, who may legally possess a handgun in the state of Alaska may attend this course. Please note, application to the State of Alaska for an Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit requires the applicant be an Alaska Resident for at least 90 days immediately preceding application and the applicant must have an Alaska driver's license or identification card (issued from the Department of Motor Vehicles). AS 18.65.710 - Application for permit to carry a concealed handgun. (Under federal law, certain non-U.S. citizens are prohibited from participating in this course. Only non-U.S. citizens who are: (1) lawful permanent residents (e.g., green card holders), (2) refugees, or (3) individuals who have been granted asylum may participate in this course.)
INSTRUCTOR: This class is conducted by the Alaska Interior Marksmanship Committee (AIM-COMM), by a team of experienced instructors certified by the State of Alaska Department of Public Safety to provide the Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit course. Lead instructors are Certified NRA CCW and Pistol Instructors. The law portion of the class is conducted by a certified law enforcement officer or attorney authorized by the State of Alaska.
FEE: $200.00 per person. (Option for a discount at time of registration available for active duty military and seniors, ages 60 and older.) **
DATES & TIMES: Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26, 2023. Classes start at 9:00 a.m. and end at ~5:00 p.m. each day; it is a two-day class. (Other class dates are available or will be scheduled.) ***
LOCATION: The Alaska Department of Fish & Game Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range, 1501 College Road, Fairbanks, Alaska. (Just west of Danby Street, south of Creamer's Field/Refuge.)

** The fee is non-refundable if you cancel. Notify us at least three days before the class date and we will attempt to reschedule you for another class. If we cancel our class for any reason, including weather, and you are not able to reschedule, we will refund your fee.
