AIM-COMM's 2019 FALL .22 Pistol League (XLVI) (9/20/19-11/15/19)

WEDNESDAYS - FULL REGULAR SHOOTER

NOTE: Organizational Meeting is Friday, September 20, at 7 PM. Practice, Matches, and Tournament with league meeting starts at 7 PM, on WEDNESDAY evenings. Potluck and Awards held Friday, November 15, at 7 PM. (combined Wednesday and Friday participants).

AIM-COMM and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range (HEDR), in Fairbanks, Alaska, work cooperatively to host and conduct the AIM-COMM Bullseye Pistol Shooting Leagues. The League Shooting program is great for shooters of all skill levels, ages 10 and older. The course of fire is NRA Conventional Indoor Bullseye Pistol, that includes firing slow, timed, and rapid-fire, all off-hand at a target placed 50-feet from the shooter. You may register as a Full REGULAR Shooter ($175) OR an ALTERNATE Shooter ($75). Alternates shoot when needed and/or when space is available while Full Regular Shooters are able to shoot each practice, all matches and tournaments within the league session.

NRA Range Safety Officer Course - OCT 21-22 2019

NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course

This nationally recognized NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) training/certification course is scheduled for Monday AND Tuesday, October 21 & 22, 2019, from 5 to 10 PM each evening, at the ADF&G Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range. The NRA Range Safety Officer course is designed to cover the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations; some ranges (like the Fairbanks Fish and Game Range) and programs require live-fire be supervised by a certified RSO.

Canadian Firearms Safety Course - Daytime 9 AM - 3 PM, Thr & Fri OCT 10-11, 2019

Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) (Non-Restricted Firearms) - $75/person - Daytime Class - Space is limited

This Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is scheduled during the daytime, for THR and FRI, October 10-11, 2019, 9 AM to 3 PM each day (must attend both days), at the ADF&G Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range, 1501 College Road in Fairbanks.

NOTE: Completion of this course is a prerequisite for attending the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) scheduled for Saturday, Oct 12, in Fairbanks.

This course is for any eligible person who wants to possess, operate or purchase a nonrestricted firearm or ammunition in Canada. If you travel to Southeast Alaska or the Lower 48 to hunt or target shoot, and wish to carry a firearm through Canada, the Canadian Firearms Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) can make it easier to do so. Non--Canadian-residents who have passed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course can apply for a five-year PAL. The PAL will allow you to cross the border into Canada with most rifles and shotguns without paying the $25 (subject to change) fee. To be eligible to apply for a PAL, classroom participation in the full CFSC is mandatory for first-time license applicants. Once the course is completed, individuals will then have to pass the tests (administered as part of this class).

Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course - 9 AM - 5 PM, SAT OCT 12, 2019

Canadian RESTRICTED Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)
$75/person - Space is limited

This Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is scheduled for SAT, October 12, 2019, 9 AM to 5 PM, at the ADF&G Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range, 1501 College Road in Fairbanks.

NOTE: Must contact instructor by phone before registering - Ed Bosco, 907-345-4530. There is a PREREQUISITE for attending this course! You must have completed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) (non-restricted firearms) within two weeks prior to taking this "restricted" course. We have two of the prerequisite CFSC courses scheduled (Thr & Fri, Oct 10-11, one daytime and one evening based class) prior to this CRFSC. Make sure you have signed up for one of the CFSC (non-restricted firearms) courses before signing up for this CRFSC! (Visit the Registration page to sign up for the CFSC if you have not yet done so.)

This course is for any eligible person who wants to possess, operate or purchase a restricted firearm or ammunition in Canada. If you travel to Southeast Alaska or the Lower 48 to hunt or target shoot, and wish to carry a firearm through Canada, the Canadian Firearms Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) can make it easier to do so. Individuals wishing to possess, operate, or acquire restricted firearms in Canada must take the full classroom delivery of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC), and pass all the tests and apply for and obtain the restricted firearms PAL. The PAL will allow you to cross the border into Canada with most rifles and shotguns without paying the $25 (subject to change) fee. The Restricted Firearms PAL will allow you to carry a semi-automatic rifle (AR-15, etc.) or other restricted firearms (pistols with barrel length over 4 1/8 inches) across the border and to and from Southeast Alaska and the Lower 48. To be eligible to apply for a Restricted Firearms PAL, classroom participation in the full CRFSC (and the CFSC) is mandatory for first-time license applicants. Once the course is completed, individuals will then have to pass the tests (administered as part of this class).

This class meets the requirements to obtain a State of Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit. After successfully completing the class, the student will leave with the required paperwork (completed, and ready to deliver, with the addition of the fee required by the state), to obtain their Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit. All class materials are provided, including the use of firearms and ammunition to complete the live-fire qualification. Discount for active duty military and seniors, ages 60 and older.
