The Alaska Interior Marksmanship Committee (AIM-COMM) strives to provide and support high quality firearms instruction opportunities for the community.
AIM-COMM’s mission includes fostering the development of marksmanship and the safe and ethical use of firearms. We offer education and training through National Rifle Association of America (NRA) instructional classes, as well as via other (non-NRA) firearms education classes and events. AIM-COMM, as an organization, plans and conducts various firearms instruction opportunities as do individuals and teams associated with AIM-COMM. We often partner with, and support education and training events conducted by or led by, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range (HEDR), in Fairbanks, Alaska.
For those that have never handled a firearm or have limited experience, to experienced shooters looking to expand their knowledge and skills, we offer classes for you taught by certified NRA (and other credentialed) instructors.
Firearms Instruction is one of the divisions of AIM-COMM and two representatives from the firearms instruction community represent the division on the AIM-COMM Board of Directors. Many of AIM-COMM's board members are trained and certified NRA firearms instructors, some with additional advanced and varied instructor certifications.
If you are interested in arranging a class for a group of your friends, or a group of employees from where you work, or for families (parents, children and perhaps grandparents) together, please let us know! We may be able to work with you to conduct a class that meets your group’s schedule and needs.
We are continually expanding the classes and programs we offer and hope you will check back often to find out what is new. To stay informed about classes and events held at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range, sign up for the range newsletter, check the range's Walk-in Public Shooting Hours page, and follow AIM-COMM on Facebook.
