NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course

(This is a full day class. There will be a 30-minute midday meal break.)

ADF&G Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range, 1501 College Rd, Fairbanks.
This nationally recognized NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) training/certification course is designed to cover the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. Some ranges and programs require live-fire be supervised by a certified RSO. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and range safety briefings which include procedures to follow in the case of an emergency. This NRA safety course is conducted in a classroom setting and is not a shooting course.
To become a NRA Range Safety Officer, you must be 21 years of age or older, pass the RSO course and exam, and demonstrate you possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
NRA Range Safety Officers (RSOs) should not be confused with Range Officers (ROs) who conduct competitive shooting events.The NRA RSO certification is a prerequisite to the NRA Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) certification.)
COURSE FEE: $125.00. This does not include the RSO certification credentialing fee (see info below), paid separately to the NRA.
NRA Membership is not required to take the NRA RSO course, but NRA Members receive a discounted rate on their credentialing fees; $35 for a two-year term instead of the $60 for non-members.
