About AIM-COMM

AIM-COMM is the Alaska Interior Marksmanship Committee.

We are an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, partner organization of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range (HEDR) in Fairbanks, Alaska.

AIM-COMM's purpose is to foster the development of marksmanship, the safe and ethical use of firearms and to support and promote use of the Alaska Department of Fish & Game Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range.

AIM-COMM is affiliated with the National Rifle Association of America (NRA), the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), and the Alaska Outdoor Council (AOC). AIM-COMM is Alaska's first NRA Gold Medal Club.

AIM-COMM was founded in 2000 and officially chartered in 2003.

A Board of Directors of voting members oversees the organization. Officers on the Board of Directors include a President, Vice-President, 2nd Vice-President, Executive Secretary, and an Executive Treasurer. An ADF&G Advisor serves as an Officer and Board Member in a non-voting, ex officio capacity. Other community members help the organization by serving as non-voting members and volunteers.

AIM-COMM was originally founded to help represent primary user groups of the ADF&G HEDR and to encourage all to work together to help preserve and promote our heritage of hunting, shooting, and wildlife conservation. The original representational divisions include:

  • Competitive Shooting
  • Firearms Instruction
  • Hunter Education
  • Law Enforcement
  • Public Shooting
  • Youth Shooting Sports.

A Chair and Vice-Chair position help represent each Division and serve on the Board of Directors as voting members.

AIM-COMM is a community organization of friendly, dedicated, and passionate Alaskans working together to foster the safe and responsible participation in hunting and the shooting sports. We welcome you to learn more about us and participate in one or more of our programs, classes, or events, and to visit the Fairbanks Fish and Game Range.
